Who knew Porsche actually built a custom Vanagon? According to Car Build Index, Porsche customized a few of these rare 1985 VW Porsche B32s as support vehicles for the Paris to Dakar Rally. These rare Vanagons were 3.2 liter flat 6 cylinder vans. You have to see the interior of this van. Click through for more.
Vanagon owners love additional gauges, and we all have different ideas about where they should go. We’ve posted a few Vanagon gauge placement ideas before, but here is another one. These gauges are angled, and look pretty good from the driver’s seat, but click through to see how they look from above. You may not like it.

Vanagon owners love gauges. We have already seen several gauge placement ideas, but this gauge setup caught my eye. It comes from a 1982 Vanagon previously owned by Rick Gordon. The mount is big, but aimed up at just the right angle for viewing. I’m not sure it would fit a Vanagon with an automatic transmission due to the shifter, but I like the placement. You can find other gauge ideas here. You might also notice an organizer mounted on the dashboard.

This 1981 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia by Eric Rankin looks as good as new. In fact, it looks better than new. With a gorgeous paint job, custom wheels, and custom upholstery, this one is to die for.

What can you say about this dash? The picture speaks for itself. This modified dash is very involved and looks like it took awhile to put it together. Is that a tablet up top, or a monitor for an embedded computer? What about that phone handset? What is that connected to? Check out the gauges just about the shifter. Click through for more.
We never get tired if seeing how people customize the Vanagon cockpit area. Here is another custom cockpit console for the Vanagon. Don’t you just love all the gauges and switches? It is built into the dash perfectly, and leaves plenty of room for the stick. I also like the steering wheel replacement on this one!
This extended dashboard tray gives you extra room to organize your junk. It is secured by the ash try hole and is supposedly for sale on the Samba, although I haven’t been able to find it in the classifieds. It has four compartments that act as cup holders, or you can fill it up with your gear. The top area is wide open for mounting gauges, or whatever else you want. Check it out on The Samba.
