Several Vanagon owners have mounted TVs inside their van, but this one has to be one of the best we’ve seen. The Samba user ChilliConCarnage, has posted several pictures of his Westy, but his use of an articulating TV mount caught my eye. He basically dismantled the mount, and clamped it to the front table leg. It works perfectly! The best part is he can hide the TV behind the driver’s seat for theft deterrence. This VW T3 Doka double cab truck recently went on sale at eBay in Germany. The truck has a high hardtop on the bed of the truck that opens completely for easy access. This one is a little battered, but it’s worth looking at. Click through for a few more pics.
Every once in awhile I post a Westy that doesn’t really have any hacks, but is just gorgeous. This one doesn’t have anything unusual, but it just look like a restoration well done. In my daily search for new Vanagons I keep running across this baby blue beauty, and I finally had to post an admiration message to whoever owns this jewel. It looks like TheSamba user anthonywesty may be the lucky owner. It has a perfect paint job and nice wheels. Except for clear turn signal lenses, and a South African grill, this van looks pretty much stock.
The picture pretty much says it all about this Syncro. The drab army color and tires scream tough guy, but the coolest thing about this Vanagon is the surfboard hanging off the side. You will also notice semi truck style side view mirrors, a serious roof rack, and large driving lights. I wish I lived in an area where this could be my daily driver.
These stretch Vanagons are quite popular. We have featured several of them before, but this one is the first I’ve seen with a full high top. The only problem is it’s apparently at the beginning stages of the project, OR it was left for dead. It’s still nice to dream!
This is a very strange looking pop top camper for a VW Doka. It appears to have 2 port holes on the side of the camper. The caption over at the Samba reads, “VW T3 Doka Road Ranger Camping Aufbau TriStar Syncro Hardtop Alu Koffer Tischer.” The truck looks like it also includes a large roof rack and a sun visor. Is it a rear spoiler or a transport rack? This Syncro Doka has lots of extras, including what looks like a spoiler on the rear bed with brake lights. It could also be used to carry long items, but it sure looks like a spoiler to me. This truck is a double cab, 3-door, Doka with a large front bumper and winch. Click through to see more.
